Resort Taman Eko Rimba Komanwel, Rawang, Selangor
Known as Taman Eko Rimba Komanwel, this beautiful destination combines lush jungle with landscaped gardens, lakes, camping grounds, chalets, fountains, waterfalls, jogging tracks and hiking trails. This mixture of natural scenery and amenities provides visitors with a choice for peaceful contemplation.
Managed by the Forestry Department of Selangor, it covers an area of more than 620 hectares and is one of the few lowland dipterocarp forest left. The authorities have designated a substantial portion as a recreational forest to allow for public use.
There are four designated camp zones, offering up to 51 campsites near two rivers and the main entrance.
If you intend to go to the campsite on weekends, then you should book your stay 2-3 weeks ahead of time. The Lake campsite is the most popular site, with only 15 slots for tents available. Due to high demand, these slots are usually booked out about a month in advance.
Camping spots are priced from RM50 per tent, with all other amenities like BBQ pits and fire pits that you can rent out.
Payung Getaway Campsite & RV Park, Cherating, Pahang
Located a three-hour drive from Kuala Lumpur, the Payung Getaway in Cherating, Pahang is a serene campsite and one of the coolest places to camp. While this location is fantastic for viewing sunsets, campers also have the option of pitching their tent by the river. Located at the far end of Cherating Beach, you’ll feel as if this is your private beach & river.
You’ll be able to watch sunrises and sunsets at your campsite. Basic amenities like kitchen facilities, toilets, showers, canoe/kayak and gazebos are all provided or made available for rent. Fishing and clamming are only steps away from your tent. It is the best place to unwind and escape from the city with your family. You can take a break and enjoy listening to the sound of nature.

Discovery Agarwood Research, Penang
Discovery Agarwood Research, located in Balik Pulau in Penang, was first the site of an Agarwood plantation and now also acts as a mini camping site. It’s open to the public since August 2020. This is the perfect place to get your kids into camping if they are not yet. There are nine camp spots available with their own private bathrooms and a kid-friendly swimming pool right in the middle of them. This campsite has all the amenities you could want for a family camping trip, including a petting zoo, playground, hiking trails and cycling.
You can opt to bring your own tent or pay for the full package which comes with a tent, sleeping bags fan, electricity and breakfast.
